From Handmade Beginnings, I bring you, the Quick Change Trousers.
Not only quick to change, but quick to sew, with the added benefit of being reversible. Of course, there is no recovering the kind of mess he made in them on their first wearing. Ahem.
Nevertheless, it's a great project, excellent for using up larger sections of scrap. I love the effect of the rear panel off-setting the rest of the trousers, as well as reflecting the reverse side. You don't need to do that, of course, but it's so cute, why not?
I definitely see more pairs in our future. Not only do I have plenty of scrap to work with, but they fit my need to occasionally have a project that is straightforward and quick, which makes me feel so accomplished.
One note, though - the sizes run a little big. Dan's in a 12months size, which is normal for him, and I had to roll the pant legs twice. Ellie actually fit into them without the rolled up legs. I think this is a good thing, though - they've a better chance of fitting a little longer!

Oh, I have fleeting thoughts of 'maybe I'll dig my sewing machine out and try sewing again' but it never gets any further than that. Feel free to encourage me, or guilt me, into trying my hand at sewing again.
These look cool!
